Following a Leader

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Navigate to the Leader

Go to Copy Trading and search for the leader's wallet address. Click on their profile.

2. Click "Follow"

On the leader detail page, click the Follow button.

3. Configure Your Copy Settings

You'll be prompted to set your copy parameters:

Wallet Selection

Choose which of your connected wallets to use for copy trading this leader.

Risk Multiplier (0.1x - 3.0x)

Controls how aggressively you copy the leader's risk:

Multiplier	Effect
0.5x	Copy at half the leader's risk percentage
1.0x	Match the leader's risk percentage exactly
1.5x	Copy at 1.5x the leader's risk (more aggressive)
2.0x	Double the leader's risk percentage

Example: Leader risks 5% per trade. At 1.0x, you risk 5%. At 0.5x, you risk 2.5%.

Max Leverage Cap

The maximum leverage HyperSync will use for copy trades from this leader. Even if the leader uses 50x leverage, your trades won't exceed this cap.

Recommended: 5x-10x for beginners, 10x-20x for experienced traders.

Allocation Percentage

What percentage of your total wallet equity can be used for this leader's trades.

Example: You have $10,000 in your wallet and set 50% allocation. HyperSync will use up to $5,000 of equity for trades from this leader.

Max Position Size (optional)

An absolute cap on any single position size in USD. Provides an extra safety net.

4. Confirm

Review your settings and click Confirm Follow. HyperSync will:

1. Save your copy settings

2. Subscribe to the leader's wallet via WebSocket

3. Start monitoring for position changes

4. Log the follow event in your activity feed

What Happens Next

Once you're following a leader:

• New trades: Automatically copied with your risk settings

• Position changes: Increases, decreases, and closes are replicated

• Risk validation: Every trade passes through the Risk Engine first

• Notifications: Copy events appear in your dashboard activity feed

Modifying Your Settings

You can adjust your copy settings at any time:

1. Go to Copy Trading > Settings (/dashboard/copy-trading/settings)

2. Find the leader you want to modify

3. Adjust risk multiplier, leverage cap, or allocation

4. Click Save Changes

Changes apply to new trades only — existing positions are not retroactively adjusted.

Unfollowing a Leader

1. Go to Copy Trading > your followed leaders list

2. Click Unfollow next to the leader

3. Confirm the action

Note: Unfollowing does NOT automatically close your existing copied positions. You must close them manually if desired.
