What Is Copy Trading?

Copy trading allows you to automatically replicate the trades of successful Hyperliquid traders (called "leaders"). When a leader opens a position, HyperSync opens a proportional position on your account.

How HyperSync Copy Trading Is Different

Traditional Copy Trading

Leader opens $50,000 BTC long
→ You open $50,000 BTC long (regardless of your account size)
→ If you have $5,000, you're using 10x leverage!
→ High liquidation risk

HyperSync Copy Trading

Leader opens $50,000 BTC long (10% of their $500K account)
→ Risk calculation: 10% of portfolio
→ You open $500 BTC long (10% of your $5K account)
→ Same risk profile, appropriate sizing
→ Protected by liquidation buffer

Key Features

Real-Time Detection

HyperSync monitors leader wallets via Hyperliquid's WebSocket API. When a leader's position changes, the system detects it within seconds.

Risk Normalization

Every copied trade is scaled based on:

  • Leader's risk percentage (position value / account equity)

  • Your account equity

  • Your risk multiplier (configurable)

  • Your maximum leverage cap

Liquidation Safety

Before executing a copy trade, the Risk Engine:

  1. Estimates the liquidation price

  2. Ensures a 25% safety buffer

  3. Reduces position size if needed

  4. Rejects the trade if it's too dangerous

Per-Leader Isolation

Each leader you follow has independent settings:

  • Separate risk multiplier

  • Separate allocation (% of your portfolio)

  • Separate leverage cap

  • One leader's losses don't affect another's settings

Automatic Lifecycle

  • Open: When a leader opens a new position, you open one too

  • Increase: When a leader adds to a position, your position grows proportionally

  • Reduce: When a leader partially closes, you close the same proportion

  • Close: When a leader fully closes, your position closes too
